What we cover

American healthcare has two separate problems. One is clinical: what is wrong and what to do about it. The other is administrative: what it costs, who pays, what the letter in your mailbox means, and what you are allowed to push back on.

Thousands of excellent sites cover the first problem, staffed by physicians and medical editors. Almost nobody covers the second one clearly. That is the gap we work in.

What we will never do

We do not interpret symptoms, suggest diagnoses, recommend treatments or medications, or tell you which doctor to see. We are not clinicians, and content that pretends otherwise does real harm. If a page here ever reads like medical advice, we have made a mistake - please tell us.

How we source things

Every factual claim on this site traces back to a primary source: the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the IRS, the Department of Labor, HealthCare.gov, the Federal Register, or the text of the law. Those sources are listed at the bottom of every guide, and we link directly to them so you can check our work.

Dollar amounts, contribution limits, and filing deadlines change annually. Each page carries a “current as of” date. If that date looks stale to you, treat the numbers as unverified and follow the source link.

How this is funded

Wellness Med Care is funded by reader donations. We plan to add ordinary display advertising once the site has meaningful traffic, and we may add optional paid features later. What we will not do is take payment from hospitals, insurers, billing companies, or lead buyers in exchange for coverage or placement. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page before it happens, not after.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, out of date, or unclear, we want to know. Email us through the contact page - corrections are made quickly and the page date is updated when they are.
