Plan comparison calculator
Premiums are what gets advertised; totals are what you pay. Enter each plan's numbers and your expected care, and see the real yearly cost side by side.
Side by side
"At your estimate" applies each plan's deductible and coinsurance to the care amount you entered, capped by its out-of-pocket maximum, plus 12 months of premiums, minus any employer contribution.
What the three rows mean
- Best case - you use almost no care: 12 months of premiums, minus any employer account contribution.
- At your estimate - premiums plus your share of the care amount you entered, computed the same way your insurer would: deductible first, then coinsurance, capped at the out-of-pocket maximum.
- Worst case - premiums plus the full out-of-pocket maximum. This is the number that matters if the year goes badly, and comparing plans on it is the single most clarifying thing this page does.
Where to find each number
Every plan must publish a Summary of Benefits and Coverage - a standardized document with the deductible, out-of-pocket maximum, and coinsurance on page one, formatted identically across insurers precisely so you can compare. Premiums come from your enrollment portal or offer letter.
